Submission Guidelines for The Arts Review: |
(1) |
All manuscripts must follow Chicago Manual of Style. |
(2) |
English abstracts of approximately 180 words each are required, along with 5–8 keywords. (The Chinese abstract must be translated by the author.) |
(3) |
Submissions must be made through the journal’s online Submission and Review System. Please indicate the type of submission on the first page. |
(4) |
Each contributor may submit only one article per issue. |
4. |
Submissions are accepted year-round. The journal is published biannually in January and July. The submission deadline for the January issue is September 30 of the previous year; for the July issue, the deadline is March 31 of the same year. |
5. |
If a manuscript includes copyrighted materials (e.g., images, translations, lengthy quotations), authors must obtain written permission from the copyright holders in advance. Authors are solely responsible for any legal issues resulting from copyright infringement. |
6. |
All manuscripts will undergo a preliminary review by the editorial board. Those meeting the journal’s scope, format (including length and style), and academic standards will be submitted to at least two external experts for a double-blind peer review. Review outcomes are classified as follows: |
(1) |
Accepted without revisions. |
(2) |
Accepted pending revisions. Final publication requires editorial board approval after revision. |
(3) |
Accepted pending revisions and re-review. The revised manuscript will be returned to the original reviewers. If approved and confirmed by the editorial board, it will be published. |
(4) |
Rejected and returned to the author. |
7、 |
For outcomes requiring revision as per Section 6 (items 2 and 3), authors will be given three weeks to submit a revised manuscript. If the revision or re-review exceeds the deadline, the paper will be deferred to the next issue. If accepted, authors will be responsible for final proofreading of the publication proofs. |
8. |
Duplicate submissions are not permitted. To support digital dissemination and the publication of an electronic edition, and to broaden the readership and citation of published papers, all accepted authors must sign a Copyright License Agreement. While the copyright remains with the author, who may later compile and use their work for teaching and personal publication, reprinting in other journals requires written approval from the Arts Review editorial board. |
9. |
If a manuscript has passed the initial review and entered the peer review process, the author must pay the review fee if they wish to withdraw the submission. |
10. |
The journal does not offer monetary compensation for published articles. Authors will receive two copies of the journal and five offprint copies of their published article. |
